The Ferguson Transport & Shipping U14 and U17 North Representative matches will be held at Spean Bridge on both Sunday 30 August 2015 and Sunday 6 September 2015.
As well as being inter–district competitions, the events will also provide an opportunity for players to stake a claim for places in North U14 and U17 representative teams to play the South at Mossfield on Sunday 27 September 2015.
The four Districts are:
- Badenoch & Strathspey (plus) - Boleskine, Kingussie, Kinlochbervie, Newtonmore, Strathglass, Strathspey
- Inverness – Beauly, Caberfeidh, Glenurquhart, Inverness, Lovat
- Lochaber – Ardnamurchan, Fort William, Glengarry, Kilmallie, Lochaber
- Skye & Wester Ross – Kinlochshiel, Lewis, Lochbroom, Lochcarron, Skye Camanachd, Uist
The Format is:
- The coaches for each District will select an 18 player squad after contacting all club youth coaches in their area for nominations / recommendations.
- The District Coaches will prepare their squad and take them to the Inter District competition at Spean Bridge which will be played out on one day.
- A draw will be made on the day and the first two districts drawn will play each other followed by the remaining two.
- The runners up will play off for 3rd / 4th place and the winners will play in the Final.
Dates and times are:
- U14s – Sunday 30 August 2015 commencing at 12pm. Games will be 25 minutes each way.
- U17s – Sunday 6 September 2015 commencing at 12pm. Games will be 30 minutes each way.

- Lochaber – U14 TBC
- Skye & Wester Ross U14 Ross MacMillan / John MacLeod
- Badenoch U17 - Norman MacArthur
- Inverness U17- Neil Brindle
- Lochaber U17 - TBC
- Skye & Wester Ross U17 - Davie Pringle
At the end of both days’ competitions, the coaches will select the 16 player squads to represent the North versus the South on Sunday 27 September 2015.
This event is held annually with the kind support of Ferguson Transport & Shipping and, as well as making the North area selection process as open and transparent as possible, it provides players and coaches with a pathway from club shinty to District and on to Area shinty before progressing on to International participation.
Rules and Conditions:
- All players must be eligible to compete in the 2015 U14 and U17 Camanachd Association competitions and be Camanachd Association members.
- The District coaches selection decisions shall be final and are not open to appeal or negotiation.
- Players who cannot play in District games due to illness, injury, holidays or school trips will still be available for selection for the North area teams at coaches discretion although players will greatly increase their chances by taking part.
- Standard Camanachd Association rules will apply during games although all six substitutes will be allowed to be rolled on and off at any time.
Clubs are asked to co-operate with and assist District coaches wherever possible with player contact details and transport for any trials and on match day.
