More than 50 people attended the Camanachd Association’s 2015 Annual General Meeting at the West End Hotel, Fort William on Friday 27 November 2015.
The AGM was chaired by Camanachd Association President Jim Barr and there was a voting strength on the night of 33 members.
There were a number of key outcomes from the meeting as follows:
- Members approved a proposal from Newtonmore that named players (Player Pool) would not be eligible to play in reserve team league fixtures. This primarily affects two-team clubs who name ten players in a Player Pool. Any players in the Player Pool will not now be eligible to play in any of the second team shinty competitions.
- Members approved the proposal from Kilmallie Shinty Club that the bottom two teams in the Premiership should be relegated and the top two teams in the National Division should be promoted at the end of each season. This removes the need for a play-off match.
- Members noted the change in Public Liability and Personal Accident insurance.
- Members approved the increase in match fee and mileage rate for match officials.
- Members approved the appointment of George Hay and Angus MacVicar as Directors of the Camanachd Association.
- Members approved the appointment of Kingussie stalwarts Ian Ross and Donnie Grant as Members of Honour.
- Members approved the appointment of Scott-Moncrieff as Accountants for the period 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The formal Minutes from the meeting will be published shortly.
