2014 RBS MacTavish Cup Final …………. 1 Day To Go! | |
20 June 2014 The all-important team news is emerging ahead of a full days’ shinty at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 21 June 2014.
2014 RBS MacTavish Cup Final Glenurquhart co-managers Billy MacLean and Dave Menzies have Andrew Corrigan free of suspension and if he is clear of work commitments, he will take his place in defence. Defender John Barr has been wrapped in cotton wool in recent weeks as he tries to shrug off a hamstring problem but should play. However injury is likely to rule out a starting place for vice-captain Ally MacKintosh. Glenurquhart are captained by Eddie Tembo and his performances in midfield have been key to their success so far this season. Lovat boss Allan MacRae will be pleased that Craig Mainland made his return following a hand injury a fortnight ago. Top marksman Greg Matheson limped off during the second half of last week’s win over Fort William but is expected to be passed fit to play. However defenders Drew Howie and Michael MacKenzie both missed out last week. Howie was involved in a motorbike accident but will be given every chance to prove his fitness. Mackenzie is on holiday and it’s not clear whether he will be back in sufficient time to take his usual place in the starting line-up. Lovat are captained by keeper Stuart MacDonald. In an odd twist, Glenurquhart will have former Lovat player James MacPherson in their pool whilst Calum Macaulay, who previously lined up for Glenurquhart, will feature for Lovat.
2014 RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final The RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final derby meeting between Kingussie U17 and Newtonmore U17 is sure to be a cracker. Savio Genini and James Falconer will provide a real attacking threat for the Kings but Callum Grant misses out with a hand injury. Darrin Fowler, Iain Robinson and Craig MacLeod all feature in a fine Newtonmore side. Kingussie were narrow 3-2 winners when the side met in the London Shield but this one is too close to call. Robert Morrison is the match referee.
2014 Tulloch Primary Schools Trophy Final Portree Primary School are unchanged for their Tulloch Primary Schools Trophy Final against Kyles Athletic. Kyles are also expected to be along usual lines. Portree were 5-0 winners in their MacKay Cup Final outing last weekend when the Islanders had five different scorers. Portree full centre Ross Gordon was named man of the match. The match takes place on the Bught Park (outside pitch) and Andy MacLean is the match referee.
