The programme of events has been set out for the 2014 AJG Parcels Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final between Kyles Athletic and Inveraray at Old Anniesland, Glasgow on Saturday 28 June 2014.
The final returns to Glasgow after a four year absence and shinty supporters can look forward to the following:
Youth Shinty Tournament
There will be a youth shinty tournament to entertain the crowd from 2pm.
2014 AJG Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final
The 110th AJG Parcels Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final brings together rivals Kyles Athletic and Inveraray. Kyles beat Inveraray on penalties last year after the teams couldn’t be separated following 120 minutes shinty. This year’s final is sure to be another close encounter. Throw up is at 4.05pm and Lachie Wood is the match referee. He will be assisted by goal judges John MacGregor and Alex MacVicar who each previously captained an Oban Camanachd Glasgow Celtic Society Cup winning side. Alan Harrison is the fourth official.
Other Attractions
The special guests will be the surviving players from the 1964 Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final when Glasgow Mid Argyll beat Kyles Athletic 4-3 in what was the first shinty match to be broadcast live on television. Gordon Menzies, who was the match commentator that day, will also be in attendance.
There will be hot and cold snacks available as well as a public bar.

Tickets cost £10 for Adults, £5 Concession and U15s go FREE.

The 2014 AJG Parcels Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final will be screened live on BBC Alba from 4pm and will be repeated at a later time. Hugh Dan MacLennan is the match commentator.
