19 November 2011 Kinlochshiel U17 and Glenurquhart U17 will contest the 2011 London Shield Final following the semi finals played on Saturday 19 November 2011. Glenurquhart U17 1 Oban Celtic U17 1 (Glenurquhart U17 won 3-0 on penalties) It took penalties to seperate Glenurquhart U17 and Oban Celtic U17 in an thoroughly entertaining match at the Dell, Kingussie before Glenurquhart U17 won through to the final. Duncan MacDonald netted after 32 minutes to put Oban Celtic in front and the South side took this lead into the interval. However Glenurquhart leveled on 69 minutes through Connor Golabek to take the game into extra time. There was no further scoring and the Glen were clinical from the spot, winning 3-0 in the shoot-out thanks to strikes from Ewan Brady, Daniel MacKintosh and Connor Golabek. Fort William U17 1 Kinlochshiel U17 4 Four goals from Conall Fraser fired Kinlochshiel U17 into the final as they beat Fort William U17 4-1 at Balgate. Conall Fraser put 'Shiel ahead on 15 minutes when he scored what turned out to be the only goal of the first half. Fraser went on to complete his hat-trick with strikes on 49 and 56 minutes. Mark Fraser pulled back a goal for the Fort with a great strike 10 minutes from the end but Fraser grabbed his fourth goal of the game with only a couple of minutes remaining to clinch a place in the final. |
