Northern California Camanachd Visit Scotland | |
16 September 2011 Members from Northern California Camanachd arrived in Scotland on Friday 16 September 2011 for a week-long visit. The Californian party will attend the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final between Newtonmore and Kingussie at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 17 September 2011.They will stay at the Palace Hotel in Inverness where they will be looked after by Graeme MacMillan. They then head for Balgate to play a Lovat in a mixed sides match in a 3pm throw up the following day. Graeme MacMillan is the match referee. Next up is a trip to Skye to renew friendships with the Islanders. They will stay at the Tongadale Hotel in Portree and they'll meet up with the Skye folk on Monday 19 September 2011. They will attend Skye Camanachd training on Tuesday 20 September 2011 if they survive a fishing trip and a visit to the world famous Talisker Distillery! The party heads for Lewis on Wednesday 21 September 2011 and the following day they will tour the Island and meet with pupils at the Nicolson Institute. There will also be a match against Lewis Camanachd and possibly some more fishing! The Californians return to Skye on Friday 23 September 2011 where there will be a knock-about at Pairc nan Laoch before an evening ceilidh at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse. They head back for Glasgow on Saturday 24 September 2011 with hopefully many stories to tell. |
