Kyles Athletic won the Artemis Macaulay Cup and Kinlochshiel clinched the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title on Saturday 20 August 2011.

Kingussie 1 Kilmallie 1
Kingussie and Kilmallie meet for the second successive Saturday but this time it was in league action at the Dell. Suspension dealt the clubs differing hands for this one as Kingussie’s Ronald Ross missed out with a one match ban whilst team mates Fraser Munro and Ryan Borthwick were also suspended.
Kilmallie were boosted by captain John Stewart’s return after he missed the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup semi final defeat against Kingussie the previous week. However Peter Carmichael was still suspended as he served the second match of a three game ban. The sides shared the points following a 1-1 draw with both goals coming early in the game. James Hutchison put the home side ahead in the second minute and Michael Rodger replied for the visitors on 13 minutes. Kingussie did receive a double boost as defender Ally MacLeod started the game and Louis Munro was also involved as both players look to prove their fitness ahead of next month’s Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final.

Skye Camanachd 1 Kinlochshiel 5
Kinlochshiel clinched the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title and promotion to the Scottish Hydro Premier Division with a 5-1 win over Skye Camanachd at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Click on the following link to read the match report in full (link to follow)
Lochaber 1 Caberfeidh 2
Caberfeidh returned from Spean Bridge with both points following a 2-1 win in their 3pm throw up against Lochaber. Michael Delaney’s men were without defender James MacRae who was working. Kevin Bartlett and Kirk Taylor scored for Cabers with Ben Delaney replying for Lochaber. The win means Caberfeidh wrestle fourth place back from Lochcarron who were not in action.
Marine Harvest South Division 1
Bute 4 Kilmory 1
Bute are one more win away from the Marine Harvest South Division 1 title and a quick return to the Scottish Hydro Premier Division following their 4-1 win over Kilmory on Rothesay. James Craig netted Bute’s opener on 4 minutes and a double from Robert Walker on 20 and 55 minutes made it 3-0. Gordon MacMillan made it 4-0 with a strike 5 minutes from time.
Taynuilt 5 Glasgow Mid Argyll 3
Glasgow Mid Argyll’s title challenge faltered following their 5-3 defeat in their 12 noon clash at Taynuilt. Michael MacQueen was the Taynuilt hero with four goals and Stuart Scott got the other. Fulton Ross, Craig Anderson and Gary Luke got the Mid Argyll goals.
Lochside Rovers 7 Aberdour 0
Lochside Rovers were too strong for Aberdour as they ran out 7-0 winners in Oban. This was another 12 noon throw up and the home side were without the suspended Alan Duffy. David Devine scored an early double for Lochside on 6 and 10 minutes and Malcolm Clark made it 3-0 on 11 minutes. Lochside went four up when Brian MacCallum netted just 3 minutes later. Malcolm Clark got his second on 18 minutes to make it 5-0 as Lochside threatened to run riot. David Devine secured his hat-trick with a goal 5 minutes from the interval. There was just one goal in the second half as Malcolm Clark completed his hat-trick on 47 minutes to seal a 7-0 win. The result will be a psychological boost for Lochside Rovers as the sides are due to meet in this year’s Bullough Cup Final.

Fort William 2 Glengarry 3
Fort William confirmed their second place status in the league with a 3-2 win over third place Glengarry at Invergarry. Fort William were without Ewan Campbell who was suspended but they have been in good league form of late. Glengarry were also in a confident mood after putting ten goals past Glenurquhart last weekend. Ryan Campbell put the visitors ahead on 16 minutes and a Daniel Stewart double on 26 and 30 minutes put the Fort 3-0 up. However Michael Brady pulled a goal back a minute before the break and Steven Brady set up a close finish with a 59 minute strike but Fort William saw out the rest of the game to take the points.
Lochaber 5 Skye Camanachd 1

Kinlochshiel 1 Kingussie 1
Kinlochshiel and Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup winners Kingussie shared the points following a 1-1 draw at Kirkton. The suspended Colin MacDiarmid was still missing for ‘Shiel whilst Kingussie included first team assistant manager Russell Jones in their line up. Scott Kennedy gave Kinlochshiel the lead after 48 minutes. However just when it looked as if the home side were going to win a couple of precious points, Kingussie were given the chance to level when referee John Angus Gillies awarded them a penalty 5 minutes from time. John Gibson beat ‘Shiel keeper Ian Cameron from the spot to earn his side a point.
Kilmallie P Glenurquhart P
The match between Kilmallie and Glenurquhart was postponed as the Canal Parks were deemed unplayable.
Marine Harvest South Division 2
Strachur 2 Tayforth 1
Strachur won the Marine South Division 2 title with a 2-1 home win over Tayforth. Both teams were on 23 points ahead of what was their final game of their respective league campaigns. Tayforth had the better goal difference but this would not have been a determining factor as there would have been a title play-off in the event of a draw. As it turned out, a play-off wasn’t necessary. Angus Campbell put Strachur ahead before the break but Brendan Duggan leveled on 52 minutes. Strachur’s Ross MacDonald scored the title winning goal 15 minutes from time to spark the celebrations.
Aberdour 0 Inveraray 9
The bottom two sides also clashed with Aberdour going down 9-0 to Inveraray in Fife. Robert Munro, Ally Munro, Craig Owen twice, Ally MacDonald, Chris Crawford, Gordon Watt, Lewis MacNicol and Grant MacLaren were on target for the visitors. This was Aberdour’s final game of the season whilst Inveraray still have two games to go.

Inverness 2 Beauly 5
Beauly clinched second place with a 5-2 win over Inverness at the Bught Park. Jack MacDonald put Beauly ahead on 26 minutes before Scott MacLean added a double on 42 and 46 minutes. Fraser Stoddart pulled a goal back for Inverness on 68 minutes to make it 3-1. However Robbie Tuach added a quick brace on 81 and 83 minutes to put Beauly out of sight. A late strike from former Skye Camanachd player James Munro 4 minutes from time gave Inverness some consolation.
Lochbroom 2 Lewis Camanachd 1
Lewis Camanachd made the familiar trip to Ullapool to play Lochbroom before going down to a narrow 2-1 defeat. A Ewan MacFadyen goal on 36 minutes put the home side one up at the break. Neil Brown caught Lewis cold 60 seconds into the second period when he put Lochbroom 2-0 ahead. Lewis Camanachd’s Paul Duke pulled a goal back on 77 minutes to set up a tense finish but Lochbroom held on to take the points.
Lochcarron 3 Boleskine 5
Lochcarron went down 5-3 to Boleskine at Battery Park. Lochcarron had the experienced Gregor Cushnie back in their side and he scored two of the home side’s goals whilst Finlay Stark got the other. However Iain Grant and Lewis Smith got doubles for Boleskine and Ewan Grant got their other to seal a 5-3 win.
Aberdeen University W/O v Strathglass
League champions Aberdeen University were awarded the points as Strathglass were unable to raise a team for their trip to the Granite City.
Caberfeidh W/O v Ardnamurchan
Ardnamurchan were unable to raise a team for their trip to Castle Leod so Caberfeidh were given the points.
