Skye Camanachd B came out on top in their U14 Development matches against Lochcarron and Uist at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 14 May 2011.
The first game of the day saw Skye beat Uist 4-1. John Gillies scored Skye’s opener with Steven Murchison making it 2-0 from the penalty spot. James Pringle beat Uist keeper Anndra MacIsaac to make it 3-0 and John MacInnes added a fourth. Calum Ferguson scored for a Uist side which continues to show improvement with each passing year.
Uist then met Lochcarron and the sides shared the points following a 2-2 draw. Calum Ferguson with his second goal of the day and Ruaraidh Morrison scored for Lewis whilst Nick Dalgety and a last minute Alexander Teago goal counted for a Lochcarron side who were minus Mathew Young.
Skye were too strong for Lochcarron in the final game, running out 6-1 winners. A John Gillies hat-trick meant he was the day’s top scorer with four goals. Johnnie Laing also helped himself to a hat-trick. Nick Dalgetty, who was excellent throughout, netted for Lochcarron for the second time in the competition.
All three teams enjoyed an after-match meal in the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse where they re-lived the morning’s events.
