07 March 2011 The Camanachd Association Match Assessors were in action on the opening day of the shinty season on Saturday 5 March 2011. Match Assessors monitor the goings on at shinty matches, including the referee’s performance, against the Camanachd Association’s Codes of Conduct. The Scottish Hydro Premier Division match between Inveraray and Newtonmore at the Winterton was refereed by Ted McDonald and Donnie MacDougal was the Match Assessor. In Marine Harvest North Division 1, Match Assessor Dondy Robertson over-saw the performance of referee John Angus Gillies in the match at Spean Bridge between Lochaber and Beauly. Match Assessor Willie MacDonald attended the Marine Harvest South Division 2 match between Ballachulish and Strachur at Jubilee Park which was refereed by Gus Campbell. There were also Match Assessors on duty in Marine Harvest North Division 3. The game between Boleskine and Inverness at Farr was refereed by Barry Dallas and Billy MacLachlan was the Match Assessor. The match at Castle Leod between Caberfeidh and Aberdeen University saw Match Assessor Ken MacColl take in the performance of referee Willie MacRae. |
