Glenurquhart Manager Barr Focused On Preparation. | |
28 February 2011 Glenurquhart first team manager Jim Barr saw his side’s George Michie Memorial Cup clash with Skye Camanachd at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 26 February 2011 as good preparation ahead of the new shinty season. “These games are all about preparation,” said Barr, “It was great to have an end to end game which gave us the opportunity to try out different things.” “However I’m not sure if we are as prepared as we should be for an opening day meeting with Fort William next weekend.” When asked about Skye’s performance, Barr said, “I thought Skye keeper Michael Nicolson made some excellent saves at important times throughout the game. The Skye forwards also moved well in the second half when our defenders tired. That movement helped create Somhairle MacDonald’s first goal. The third and fourth goals from Iain Morrison and Neil MacVicar were really good strikes.” “Apart from all that we had a fine afternoon in Skye where the sun shone except for one small shower and how many people can say that!” |
