Scotland U21 Coach Martin Delighted With Young Guns Commitment. | |
01 November 2010 Scotland U21 Head Coach Donnie Martin was delighted with the commitment shown by his players in the international against Ireland U21 at Ratoath on Saturday 30 October 2010. “Our players showed fantastic commitment during the game and our tackling was superb throughout,” said Martin. “I think our young players will gain great confidence from this game and we played particularly well in the first half.” “We are disappointed to lose the game though and our down-fall was that we missed four 2 point opportunities during a first half when we had the wind at our backs. The distance was there with the hits but the accuracy was just slightly out. We also lost a wee bit of concentration at the start of the second half but there was little between the teams for the remainder of the game.” “We only lose 5 players from this squad – Michael Rodger, Scott MacMillan, Tom Whyte, Robbie MacLeod and Owen Fraser – so Ted, Dave and I are very much looking forward to working with the squad again next year.” |
