MacDonald Optimistic For The Future. | |
05 September 2010 Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald was a happy man following his side’s 5-3 derby win over Lochcarron in Marine Harvest North Division 1 on Saturday 4 September 2010. “I thought we put in a good all round performance today,” said MacDonald. “We didn’t fall into the trap of rushing things and we played some really good shinty.” “Our young guys all did exceptionally well and I think this proves that we took the right decision a few weeks back to give our promising young players more time on the field of play. This can only benefit us next season.” “I also must say that the more experienced Somhairle MacDonald and Kerr Gibb did really well too, with both players having to play out of position.” “Lochcarron gave us a physical challenge and this must be the youngest side that Skye has fielded for many a year.” “It was an exciting game and it was great to see Jordan Murchison getting his first goals for the first team. Danny Morrison was unlucky not to score and he played his heart out for us today and I’m really pleased with him. Shaun Hedley is also due a mention. Like Jordan Murchison and Martin Bruce, he took part in the U17’s Friday night win over Lovat U17 and he came on as a sub to make his debut and looked very good indeed.” Next up for Skye Camanachd is their final home league match of the season when they play Caberfeidh in their penultimate Marine Harvest North Division 1 match this weekend. |
