There were midweek Strathdearn Cup and Bullough Cup ties on Wednesday 26 May 2010.

However the tie between Glenurquhart and Boleskine at Farr was postponed as a mark of respect following the sad passing of Kathleen Tembo, mother of Glenurquhart first team player and Scottish internationalist Eddie Tembo. This tie will be rescheduled for a later date.
Fort William, who sit top of Marine Harvest North Division 2, were to meet Strathglass who are second bottom of Marine Harvest North Division 3. However the visitors could not raise a team so Fort William are through to the next round.

Beauly and Lochaber met at Braeview Park in a tie refereed by Scotland Shinty / Hurling Head Coach Drew McNeil. In the end it was visitors Lochaber, who top Marine Harvest North Division 3, who ran out 3-1 winners against their Marine Harvest North Division 2 opponents. A Stuart Callison goal after 35 minutes gave Lochaber a 1-0 half time lead. Veteran Angus Morrison made it 2-0 on 65 minutes and Pat Toal added a third 10 minutes later. Jack MacDonald pulled a goal back for Beauly 10 minutes later but his strike proved to be more than a consolation as Lochaber ran out 3-1 winners.
There was a west coast derby at Battery Park where Marine Harvest North Division 3 side Lochcarron took on Kinlochshiel who are in a league above. The home side started well but it was Shiel who took the lead after 11 minutes when Scott Kennedy and Duncan “DA” MacRae combined to burst through the centre of the home defence. MacRae got the final touch in a goal mouth scramble to give his side the lead. Shiel full centre Colin MacDiarmid cracked a great 30 yard shot on target on 24 minutes only for home keeper Craig Callaghan to pull off an even better save under the crossbar. Callaghan then made a good save with his hand on 29 minutes following a run and shot from Duncan “DA” MacRae. There was a 5 minute delay when referee John Angus Gillies stopped play to allow Shiel forward Scott Kennedy receive treatment to his back after clashing with Lochcarron full back David MacCuish. Steven Isles twice came within a whisker away from doubling Shiel’s advantage in the minutes leading up to the half time break. First he flashed a shot just wide of target after getting on the end of a cross from the right. He then saw a goal bound effort cleared off the line by Lochcarron’s Sean MacCuish. Shiel continued to press in the second period but the home side almost leveled on 64 minutes when visiting keeper Iain Cameron made a superb save from Davie “Ham” MacKenzie’s shot. Just 4 minutes later Shiel were 2-0 up. A Duncan “DA” MacRae free hit from the left side of midfield found Scott Kennedy on the penalty and he spun to fire the ball into the net, giving Callaghan no chance. Kennedy was immediately replaced by Michael Morrison in what may be his final appearance for the side because of a back persistent problem. Man of the match Duncan “DA” MacRae completed the scoring 5 minutes from time when he turned a cross from the right into the net. Shiel were also well served by Colin MacDiarmid and Duncan “DA” MacRae. Lochcarron’s top performers were keeper Callaghan and the over-worked defence of Kenny Murray, Dougie MacKenzie and Sean MacCuish, all of whom were well marshaled by full back David MacCuish
The only all Marine Harvest North Division 3 cup tie took place at Castle Leod where Caberfeidh welcomed Inverness. The home side racked up a 3-0 half time lead before eventually running out 4-1 winners. Ian MacDonald scored all 4 Cabers goals with Scot Fitzgerald replying for Inverness.
There were 2 Bullough Cup first round ties scheduled but the match between Glasgow Mid Argyll and Tayforth at Yoker will now go ahead on Saturday 5 June 2010.
In the tie that did go ahead, Inveraray, who are bottom of Marine Harvest South Division 1, were 4-1 home winners over Strachur, who sit second bottom in Marine Harvest South Division 2. Craig Owen gave Inveraray a 10 minute lead and Lewis Nicol doubled their advantage 10 minutes later. Chris Crawford made it 3-0 on 25 minutes and although Strachur’s Duncan MacNicol pulled a goal back on the half hour mark, a Chris Crawford strike 10 minutes from time secured a 4-1 win.
