Ballachulish Undecided On Marine Harvest North Division 1 Switch. | |
11 December 2011 Ballachulish are undecided about the possibility joining Marine Harvest North Division 1 for the 2012 shinty season following their AGM on Friday 9 December 2011. The club discussed the Camanachd Association proposal to switch leagues at their AGM without coming to a final decision. However there is a feeling within the club that staying in Marine Harvest South Division 1 will provide a better platform to nurture their younger players and so a switch is unlikely. The Jubilee Park side finished in fifth place in Marine Harvest South Division 1 last season and their home pitch is only 15 miles from Fort William. The Camanachd Association faces an imbalance of sides competing in the North and South first divisions next season. It currently looks as if there will be as few as seven sides set to compete in the North whilst there could be as many as eleven teams in the South. A switch of league for Ballachulish would have gone some way to addressing that position. |
