Lochaber Camanachd Announce 2011 Player of the Year Awards. | |
27 November 2011 Lochaber Camanachd have announced their 2011 Player of the Year Awards following their Annual Dinner Dance at the Ben Nevis Hotel on Saturday 26 November 2011. Scotland U21 international Zander Ferguson received the Archie MacPhee Brackletter Trophy as Senior Player of the Year. This trophy is presented in memory of former player and coach Archie MacPhee and his grandson Neil MacDonald is a member of the current first team squad and a previous two-time winner of the award. The Highland Wood Energy Second Team Player of the Year Award went to North U17 defender Jack Dignan. The Trophy was presented by Bruno Berardelli on behalf of his company. The MacFarlane Under 17 Player of the Year Trophy went to Pat Toal who recently played for the North U17 against the South U17. Ryan Johnstone received the Ferguson Transport U14 Player of the Year Trophy. The Langan and Smith Lochaber Ladies Player of the Year Award was given to Christy MacIntyre. The Most Improved Girl Award went to Shannon MacDonald. The club also unvealed the new Supporters Player of the Year Trophy in memory of the late Annie Anderson who was a wonderful supporter of the club in several different capacities for many, many years. The trophy was donated by Annie's great friends John and Alison Fraser. John Fraser presented the trophy to Zander Ferguson who became the first winner following a supporters' ballot. |
