MacDonald In And Irvine Out For Scots. | |
25 October 2011 Its one player in and one player out for the senior Scotland side ahead of the Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling international second test against Ireland at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 29 October 2011. Kyles Athletic's Grant Irvine will miss the match as he has strained a medial ligament. The injury also ruled him out of the first test although he did travel to Ireland with the squad. The injury must also cast a doubt over his involvement in Kyles Athletic's title push for the final three Scottish Hydro Premier Division games of the season. However Scotland boss Drew McNeil is boosted by Roddy MacDonald's availability after the Kyles Athletic man missed the first test because of an unavoidable work committment. MacDonald gives the Scots another attacking option whilst he can also play in midfield. He has been one of shinty's top performers this season and he is in the running for the Marine Harvest National Player of the Year Award which will be announced on Friday 28 October 2011. Skye Camanachd's Somhairle MacDonald, a late call-up for the first test, retains his place in the squad. The Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling international second test between Scotland and Ireland takes place at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 29 October 2011. The match starts at 2pm and, if you are unable to make the game, it will be shown live on BBC2 Scotland starting at 1.45pm. The second test will be preceded by the meeting between the Scotland U21 and Ireland U21 sides who clash at 12 noon. The day’s sporting feast begins with a Challenge Shinty / Camogie match between Scotland and the British Universities side and this starts at 10.30am.
