Aberdour’s Lisa Norman Set For Big Shinty Day. | |
18 June 2011 Aberdour boss Lisa Norman reflects on the last 10 year’s shinty in Aberdour. Aberdour were formed 10 years ago but they first entered the Camanachd Association competitions and the Bullough Cup in 2005. At this time the Bullough Cup was played in a section format where Aberdour lost 7-0 to the Highlanders, 4-0 to London Camanachd and 8-1 to Glasgow Mid Argyll. Aberdour might have lost all three games but they did score their first goal at this level and the scorer was none other than former Skye Camanachd player Eoghan Stewart who now plays for Lewis Camanachd. Aberdour were trailing 8-0 at the time before Stewart burst forward from his defensive role to score the historic goal. Eoghan Stewart hopes to attend the celebrations and he said, “Aberdour are a really good example of how to set up a shinty club and we have learnt a lot from them which we have carried into our work with Lewis Camanachd.” Click on the following link to read the article in full Dunfermline Press |
