Skye Camanachd Player Set For Fund Raising Challenge | |
17 June 2011 Skye Camanachd player Donnie Campbell is set to “Run Glasgow 2 Skye” in 48 hours without stopping for sleep. Campbell will set off from Milngavie on Saturday 18 June 2011 and he will run to Portree without sleep. He hopes to arrive in Portree in the early hours of Monday morning in a journey which will include a sea crossing from Mallaig to Armadale on Skye. Campbell hopes to raise £5,000 for Skye Cancer Care which is a charity close to his heart as his mother and grandmother were diagnosed with the illness three years ago and whilst his mother recovered, his grandmother later died. Campbell said, “Trying to do the run without any sleep is going to be a challenge but as long as I eat and drink, I should be ok. I have trained for the mileage but the unknown aspect is not sleeping for 48 hours." You can contribute to this cause by clicking on the following link Run Glasgow 2 Skye |
