MacDonald Unhappy With Skye Fitness. | |
15 June 2011 Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald felt his side’s fitness let them down following their 3-1 Marine Harvest North Division 1 defeat to Beauly at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 4 June May 2011. Speaking to the Cuillin FM Saturday Sports Show after the game, MacDonald said, “I was very pleased with the first half performance and I thought we played some nice shinty. We showed that we are a better side than our league position suggests. I think we have been improving slowly in recent weeks.” “However things changed for us in the second half and the reason for that was one thing and one thing only, fitness. We definitely tired and I think everyone could see that. But fitness is something that can be fixed fairly easily so we are not too down about that. We know what we have to do and it is just a case of doing it.” When asked about his team formation going into the game, the Skye boss said, “We played a two-two formation in attack to take Roger Cormack out from the central area as he is one of Beauly’s main men. However you need to be fit to play that formation effectively and we weren’t able to do that in the second half. We have a week off next week but we look forward to a home game with Strathglass on Saturday 18 June 2011.” |
