19 April 2011 It was one trophy each when Portree High School met Plockton High School in their annual cup double-header in Plockton on Thursday 7 April 2011. Portree suffered a blow before the game as Martin Bruce, Calum Gibb and Ian MacPherson were all unfit and unble to play. Plockton came out on top, beating Portree 4-1 to win the Cuach Somhairle MhicGill-Eain. Conall Machillichair put Plockton ahead and Adam Porrit made it 2-0. John Gillies pulled a goal back for Portree but second half goals from Conall Fraser and Ciaran Stark ensured Plockton won the Cuach for the first time in 6 years. This year’s event was all the more poignant as it as it is the centenary year since the birth of poet and former Plockton High School Headmaster Sorley MacLean. Rosalind Lamont and Nicola MacSween scored for Portree as they won the trophy back from Plockton.
