Skye Manager MacDonald Takes Positives From Glenurquhart Win. | |
28 February 2011 Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald was happy to take the positives from his side’s 4-2 victory over Scottish Hydro Premier Division side Glenurquhart in their George Michie Memorial Cup clash at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 26 February 2011. “We had a chat before the game about a few things following last week’s defeat against Lovat,” said MacDonald. “I felt the players didn’t take into account what was said during the first half but they certainly did in the second half. Glenurquhart started the game at a fast pace - a Premier Division pace – and they were all over us at times. We played at the same pace but I felt we finished the fitter side.” “Glenurquhart have good players and we had to pick ourselves up at the start of the second half but we did that and we looked a strong unit. I’m really pleased with how our forwards played and although it’s maybe not fair to pick individuals out, Jordan Murchison was really good again.” “We have had a good pre-season with a win, draw and defeat against 3 Premier Division sides.” Skye Camanachd start their Marine Harvest North Division 1 campaign against Strathglass at Cannich next weekend. |
