Kilmallie Set For Top Flight Shinty. | |
15 February 2011 Kilmallie are continuing their preparations for Scottish Hydro Premier Division shinty and the club has confirmed their management team for the 2011 season. Not surprisingly, the first team management remains unchanged as Peter Jackson and Lachie Innes continue in charge with John Morrison as trainer. John Stewart will continue as first team captain and the Scottish internationalist formed part of what was a formidable strike-force last season. Stewart, along with Liam MacDonald, Peter MacIntyre, Fraser Massie and Michael Rodger, played their part as the side scored more goals than any other club in shinty last season. Full centre Ross Lavin, who was one of the top players in Marine Harvest North Division 1 last season, is vice-captain. Club captain John Stewart is looking forward to the new season. “The club are very excited about the coming season, especially with the new facilities in the pipeline and the Premier League campaign about to start for the senior team. The first team are looking to build on the experiences gained in North Division 1 over the last three years. Half the current squad were involved in the 2005 Camanachd Cup Final and the other half are youngsters who picked up viital experience winning Sutherland Cups and playing in the MacTavish Cup Final last season, when we narrowly missed out to Kingussie. We are confident we can stay up this year.” Kilmallie will certainly cause problems for the so called bigger teams this season, especially at the Canal Parks. |
