Scotland Senior Captain Set To Be Announced. | |
26 October 2010 The Scotland senior captain and vice-captain for the Shinty / Hurling international double-header against Ireland are set to be announced on Tuesday 26 October 2010. Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeil said, “The squad were told last Saturday who the captain and vice captains are. The squad have been asked to keep this in-house until the press release and photo shoot with the sponsors Caledonian Brewery which will be in Edinburgh on Tuesday 26 October 2010.” McNeil will name a captain and vice-captain for the trip to Croke Park with the vice-captain taking over the arm-band for the return match in Inverness in a fortnight’s time. “The captaincy is such an honour that I feel it should only be for the one match at a time,” said McNeil, “The vice- captain in the Croke Park game will be the captain in Inverness.” McNeil is not expecting anything special from his captain but hopes his whole team will play as captains saying, “I don’t expect a captain’s display from my captain but I do expect all my players to be captains.” The Camogie match between Ireland and Scotland is first up on Saturday 30 October 2010 and this takes place at Ratoath with an 11.30am start. The Ireland U21 and Scotland U21 sides then clash at the same venue at 1pm. The main event is the senior international between Ireland and Scotland at Croke Park which commences at 4.45pm. This preludes the Irish Daily Mail International rules series meeting between Ireland and Australia which is expected to attract a capacity 82,300 crowd. |
