04 July 2010
The Women’s North v South match took place just before the Premier Sixes Final at An Aird on Saturday 3 July 2010.
The South played with the wind in the first half in what was a 10 minutes each way game. There was no scoring during the first period but the An Aird breeze favoured the North in the second period.
Lucy McNutly from Glengarry turned in a cross from the right from Kirsty Deans into the net to make it 1-0 right at the start of the second half.
A good individual goal from Lucy McNulty made it 2-0 just 4 minutes into the second half.
Kirsty Deans collected a ball from Lauren Docherty the left on 16 minutes and calmly shot low past the keeper at her right post.
Orla Coughlin had a chance to pull a goal back for the South near the end but her shot went wide of target.
The Women’s trio of Kirsty Deans, Jane Nicol and Lucy McNulty were too strong for the South and they ran out 3-0 winners.
North captain Jane Nicol was presented with the trophy by Marine Harvest Managing Director Alan Sutherland. |
