Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Second Round Draw - UPDATED. | |
26 April 2010 The draw has been made for the second round of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup.
The all important draw was made at the Bught Park, Inverness at 11am on Monday 26 April 2010.
Ross County manager Derek Adams pulled out the home teams and Scotland Head Coach Drew McNeil drew the away sides.
The top sides have been kept apart in the main with only 3 all-Premier Division ties out of the 8 fixtures. Of the 6 sides who came through the qualifying and first rounds, only Skye Camanachd and Strathglass were given home ties.
2009 runners-up Kyles Athletic were first out of the hat and they will face Bute at Tighnabruaich in an all-South, all-Premier Division tie.
There will be a trip to his old club for Kingussie’s Lee Bain as Strathglass host last season’s beaten semi finalists.
Lochaber’s reward for getting past Lochcarron in the first round is a tricky trip to the Winterton to play an Inveraray side who have a 100% home record this season.
There will be a local derby at Blairbeg where Glenurquhart have been given home advantage against Lovat in an all-North, all-Premier Division tie.
There is an all-North Division 1 meeting between promotion hopefuls Skye Camanachd and Kilmallie at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree.
The top side in the Premier Division meets the top side in South Division 1 as Newtonmore host Glenorchy at the Eilan.
2009 Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup holders Fort William play Kinlochshiel at An Aird. The sides met in the quarter final stage at Kirkton last season where it took extra time to separate the teams. They also met recently in this season’s MacTavish Cup at An Aird and again Shiel give a good account of themselves before going down 3-0.
Oban Camanachd and Glasgow Mid Argyll were the final sides drawn and they will meet at Mossfield.
The full draw is;
Kyles Athletic v Bute Strathglass v Kingussie Inveraray v Lochaber Glenurquhart v Lovat Skye Camanachd v Kilmallie Newtonmore v Glenorchy Fort William v Kinlochshiel Oban Camanachd v Glasgow Mid Argyll
The Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup second round ties take place on Saturday 22 May 2010.
