MacDonald Praises Kilmory Keeper. | |
11 April 2010 Skye Camanachd first team manager Aonghas MacDonald praised the performance of Kilmory keeper David MacFadyen following his side’s 6-2 victory over Kilmory at a sunny Lochgilphead on Saturday 10 April 2010.
Kenny Campbell and Dougie Rankin bagged doubles and brothers Somhairle and Gilleasbuig MacDonald scored the others but it was MacFadyen’s performance which caught the eye.
“He made 5 or 6 outstanding saves during the game.” said MacDonald, “Some of the saves were from really good strikes and he did well to keep them out.”
Reflecting on his own team’s performance, MacDonald said, “We took a while to settle and come to terms with the tight pitch and bumpy surface but our forwards played some nice shinty later in the game. We probably scored our first 2 goals against the run of play but we are winning games which is important. After going out of all the cup competitions in the first round last season, it’s nice to be making some progress this year.”
MacDonald now at last has a home match to look forward to as all fixtures so far since the opening day of the season have been away from home. “It will be nice to have a home game and we’ll look forward to the match with Strathglass. They made it difficult for us last season so it will be a tough game. We may have John Moir back however the 3 young players we took as subs today – Neil MacVicar, Danny Morrison and Stewart Grant – all did really well and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again if needed.” |
