19 February 2010 There will be more pre-season action on Saturday 20 February 2010 as sides prepare for the new shinty season. However the weather is already taking its toll.
Kingussie were to travel to Castle Leod to play Caberfeidh. The Kings beat Beauly 4-3 last weekend whilst Cabers went down to a heavy defeat to Lovat. However the pitch at Castle Leod is unplayable so this game is off.
Glenurquhart host Kilmallie at Blairbeg Park. Both teams were also in action last weekend with the Glen drawing 2-2 with Strathglass whilst Kilmallie went down to local rivals Fort William.
Skye Camanachd were to travel to Yoker to play Scottish Hydro Premier Division new boys Glasgow Mid Argyll for the 2009 Thomas Ferguson Cup.
However the pitch at Yoker is unplayable so the game has been switched to the all-weather pitch at Cumbernauld. The match now throws up at the later time of 2pm.
Marine Harvest North Division 1 side Inverness travel south to play Taynuilt who were promoted to North Division 1 at the end of last season.
Strathglass and Glenorchy were to meet at Cannich for the Murdo MacKenzie Memorial Cup. However the match was called off on the Friday as the pitch is unplayable. This is the second time that this game has been called off this year.
Beauly have set themselves a tough pre-season which could pay dividends when the season proper starts. They were unlucky to go down 4-3 at home to Kingussie last weekend and next up is Fort Williams visit to Braeview Park. Beauly conclude their pre-season preparations with a trip to the Eilan to play Newtonmore on Saturday 27 February 2010.
Kinlochshiel travel to Spean Bridge to play Lochaber and this game throws up at 1pm.
Glengarry and Lochcarron were to play at Invergarry but the pitch is also unplayable. |
