29 December 2009 The MacTavish Juvenile Cup Saturday 15 November 1986 – MacTavish Cup Juvenile Cup Final – Kingussie 3 Skye Camanachd 0 The Skye Camanachd youngsters fell at the final hurdle when they lost out to Kingussie in the MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final. Skye Camanachd were rocked when influential buckshee back Calum Graham had to come off injured with only 15 minutes played. James “Chips” Munro was withdrawn from the forward line to replace Graham in defence whilst Robbie MacDougall came into the forward line. However there’s no doubt that the switch hampered Skye as they missed both Graham in defence and Munro in the forward line and this was a turning point in the match. Kingussie took the lead after 28 minutes from a strike by full forward Kinnear. This goal gave his side a 1-0 half time lead. Skye were the dominant side during the first part of the second half but they found it very difficult to get past the more experienced Kingussie defence. Kingussie’s Dunn dealt a hammer blow to the Islanders when he made it 2-0. The Skye centre line remained dominant but although they provided plenty of ball to the forwards, the Kingussie defence held firm. Kinnear added his second and Kingussie’s third to clinch victory and bring disappointment for Archie MacDonald’s young side.
