Memory Lane – Season 1986 / 87 – Part 17. | |
06 December 2009 The Skye Camanachd second team rattled up 6 goals during a 12 minute second half blitz to win the points against Lochaber at The first half was a quieter affair in comparison with the sides only separated by an Ally “Digg” MacDonald lob from distance which caught out Lochaber keeper Duncan Kelly and ended up in the back of the net. Skye attacked Lochaber from the start of the second half and on 55 minutes, John MacRae forced his way through the home defence before beating Kelly from inside the D to make it 2-0. MacRae found the back of the net twice more in 4 minutes to complete a quick-fire hat-trick as he put the visitors 4-0 ahead. Ronnie Reid blasted an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net to make it 5-0 on 61 minutes and Ally Morrison (Portree) spun his marker to riffle in number 6 just 2 minutes later. Ally “Digg” MacDonald scored his second on 64 minutes to make it 7-0 and midway through the second half, Ally “Mhor” Morrison (Kyleakin), who was dominant at full centre throughout the game, got the goal his performance deserved to make it 8-0. Lochaber scored a couple of late goals through Archie MacPhie and Robert Campbell but they were merely consolations. As well as Ally “Mhor” Morrison (Kyleakin) at full centre and hat-trick hero John MacRae, Skye were well served by Bodach MacKenzie who put in a fantastic performance at buckshee back. Skye remained top of North Division 3 and Archie MacDonald’s side had a visit from Kincraig to look forward to in their next outing. |
