04 November 2009 All eyes will be on the Dell as Scottish Hydro Premier Division title contenders Kingussie and Newtonmore meet in a crucial match on Saturday 7 November 2009. The eagerly awaited Scottish Hydro Premier Division clash between Kingussie and Newtonmore takes place at the Dell. The sides are currently level on points at the top of the table. Kingussie lead on goal difference by virtue of a single goal. However Newtonmore have a vital game in hand on their rivals. Therefore the outcomes are thus; The King’s goals this season have mainly come from Ronald Ross whilst the ‘More goals have tended to be more shared out amongst their forwards. The sides drew when they met at the Eilan earlier this season and this will also likely be a close affair and not one for the feint hearted. Marine Harvest Referee of the year Ronnie Campbell will take charge for what is the biggest league meeting between the sides in years. Both sides will likely be at full strength and there is a large crowd expected at the Dell with shinty fans traveling from far and wide to join the local support for this one. Inveraray will likely have Graeme MacPherson back in goal when Glenurquhart visit Winterton. This match rounds off what has been a very successful season in the top flight for Glenurquhart and they can still finish as high as third in the table. Lovat can clinch the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title with a win over bottom side Lochcarron at Balgate. Lovat showed little sign of nerves when they beat Newtonmore and Skye Camanachd meet in what is the final Marine Harvest North Division 2 league fixture for both sides. This will be a difficult match for Skye against an in-form Newtonmore side which has won their last 7 consecutive matches. However the last time they dropped a point was in Portree on Saturday 11 July 2009 – in a 2-2 draw with Skye Camanachd.This match has an 11.30pm throw up. Kilmallie host Kinlochshiel at Canal Parks. A point for the visitors will guarantee that they do not finish bottom of the league. Second bottom Glenorchy and fourth place Strachur meet at Dalmally. Strachur won 2-0 when the sides met in May. All matches throw up at the earlier time of 1.30pm with the exception of the Marine Harvest North Division 2 match between Newtonmore and Skye Camanachd which starts at 11.30am. |
