Could It Be Winner Takes All In Marine Harvest South Division 1? | |
19 October 2009 It looks as if it will be winner takes all when Kilmory host Glasgow Mid Argyll in Marine Harvest South Division 1 on Saturday 24 October 2009. Mid Argyll currently occupy second spot in the table behind champions Lochside Rovers. However as Rovers are Oban Camanachd’s second team, they are not eligible for promotion to the Scottish Hydro Premier Division and the Camanachd Association is likely to offer promotion to the league’s runners up. Kilmory sit 3 points behind Mid Argyll in third place but with a game in hand. Their game in hand is against bottom side Tayforth who have had team raising difficulties this season. It seems likely that Kilmory will win their game in hand, so Kilmory and Glasgow Mid Argyll have everything to play for when they meet this weekend. A draw or away win should see Glasgow Mid Argyll offered the chance to move up to the Scottish Hydro Premier League. However a Kilmory win would see them make the jump to the game’s top division. Mid Argyll were 5-0 winners when the sides met on the opening day of the season. However Kilmory had team raising difficulties at the start of their campaign when they lost their opening 3 matches. They have won 7 consecutive games since then so this meeting should be a cracker. |
