Camanachd Association Invite Clubs To Host 2010 Camanachd Cup Final. | |
18 August 2009 The Camanachd Association has written member clubs to seek expressions of interest in providing the host venue, and being involved in the arrangements, for the 2010 Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final. Criteria to Host Clubs / Associations Based on the arrangements that are detailed within the current byelaws, the 2010 Camanachd Cup venue should be in the North Area. Expressions from other locations are welcome in case no suitable location in the North Area is identified. The Board will look most favourably on joint applications from clubs who wish to work together, and in partnership with the Camanachd Association. Venue The successful application will have to be able to confirm
o Coffee/ food and shelter tent for the public o Potential beer tent
Support · Three / four representatives on the organising committee that will be chaired by the CA · Adequate numbers of people able to o manage the gates on the day o sell programmes o sell raffle tickets o manage the stand o assist with stewarding o assist with parking · Ideas for local support and sponsorship · Local support to come and view the event Additional requirements · Potential of local support for hosting and welcoming a sporting occasion to an area in the form of a lunch for around 60 – 80 · A recognized venue for the after match dinner with space for around 120 people The Camanachd Association will have in place a procedure for sharing some of the proceeds from the event with the successful applicants and this will be agreed based on the level of support that the club or clubs contribute to the event. Interested clubs are asked to contact the Association by 4 September 2009. Thereafter all clubs / associations expressing an interest in hosting the final will be invited to meet with a committee set up by the Camanachd Association and to make a presentation to them. Following these meetings the committee will decide on the venue which best fits the criteria set. To ensure impartiality, this committee will comprise of representatives from the Camanachd Association together with our sponsors Scottish Hydro, the BBC and a guest panelist. The representation to the panel will be made by 16 September 2009 and the venue will be announced at this year’s final on 19 September 2009 in Oban. |
