Managers’ Comment Following Strathglass, Skye Camanachd Match. | |
16 August 2009 Managers Garry Reid and Ally Morrison reflected on their Marine Harvest North Division 1 meeting in which Skye Camanachd beat Kilmallie 4-2 at Cannich on Saturday 15 August 2009. Strathglass manager Garry Reid said, “Overall, Skye deserved to win the game. They showed great energy and skillful play whilst we were a bit off the pace with not having a game for the last 4 weeks. However these are things that we can work on and we now want to put a winning league run together. We still have half the league programme to play and if we win our games in hand, we will be right up there with the leaders.” Ally Morrison took charge of the Skye Camanachd first team in Aonghas MacDonald’s absence and he was delighted with his team’s performance. “The boys played really well from the start. It was a big improvement on our performance against Beauly in our last league match and it was a boost to have Somhairle MacDonald back in the side. We scored some good goals and showed great determination to fight back when we went 2-1 down.” The win extends Skye Camanachd’s lead at the top of the table to 3 points over Kilmallie and Caberfeidh. Strathglass can equal Kilmallie’s points total if they win their games in hand. |
