Defenders In came Iain Nicolson, Shockie MacLennan, David Grant, Iain Urquhart, Donnie Campbell and new signing Jamie Nicolson. Skye took the lead after 35 minutes when full centre Donnie Campbell fired the ball into the net from 35 yards. Just a minute later a rocket shot from Skye’s Danny Morrison came back of the post. Kingussie equalised on 17 minutes when 15 year old Thomas Borthwick dribbled through the Skye defence to score. Skye suffered a blow on 20 minutes when Iain Nicolson lost a couple of teeth after being hit by the ball. Shockie MacLennan, who had been named as a sub as he was nursing a groin injury from the previous night’s win over Lochcarron, came on in his place. Donnie Campbell and Jamie Nicolson combined on 23 minutes to set up Danny Morrison and his super backhand shot gave MacPherson in the Kings goal no chance to give Skye the lead once more. However just 3 minutes later Kingussie were level again and this time it was Rory Borthwick who did the damage. Scott MacLeod in the Skye goal saved well from Menzies on 35 minutes and the young keeper had to look lively again 5 minutes later to clear the ball after a good run by Martin Dallas. Just 4 minutes before the break, Rory Borthwick set up Thomas Borthwick to score and put the visitors ahead for the first time in the game. Skye almost levelled right on the half time whistle but Iain Morrison shot wide after lead up play from Jamie Nicolson and Danny Morrison. Kingussie started the second half strongly and Scott MacLeod saved well from Martin Dallas. Martin Dallas was denied again on 72 minutes when his shot came back of the post. A long free hit from David Grant after 75 minutes found Danny Morrison but his shot went wide. Just 3 minutes later Kingussie scored their crucial fourth goal when Thomas Borthwick collected a shy from the left and shot low into the net to complete his hat-trick. On 83 minutes Scott MacLeod saved well again from Thomas Borthwick and he turned a Rory Borthwick effort over the bar 4 minutes later. In the last minute MacLeod blocked a Martin Dallas shot but before he could get the ball away, Thomas Borthwick nipped his to score his fourth to clinch a 5-2 win for the league’s second placed side.
