Portree Primary School’s all-conquering shinty team set off on a mini shinty tour on Thursday 16 July 2009.
The 3 day trip will take place between Thursday 16 July 2009 and Saturday 18 July 2009 and will culminate in Portree Primary Schools participation in the Shinty World Cup Final at the Highland Games at Bught Park, Inverness. Portree are current holders of this trophy.
The Portree meet Kingussie Primary School – boosted by the inclusion of a few players from Newtonmore Primary School - on Thursday 16 July 2009 at the Dell.
Portree Primary School from; I.P.Mackenzie, Shaun Henderson, Kyle Pirie, Donald Nicolson, Iain Nicolson, Alex MacDonald, Will Cowie, Stevie Murchison, Andrew Grant, Connor Ross, Niall MacHugh, Thomas Deas, Sean Stevenson.
Johnnie Laing will join the team for the Friday night game against a Beauly / Lovat select. This game will form part of the Beauly Gala weekend and will be played for a new trophy which Beauly hope will become an annual fixture.
