The Balliemore Cup Final………..2 days to go! | |
16 July 2009 The 2009 Balliemore Cup Final takes place between Kinlochshiel and Strathglass at Rothesay, Whilst Kinlochshiel have the MacRae brothers, Strathglass have a couple of interesting family affairs of their own. Garry Reid returned to the Strathglass side in 2004 and since then, he has teamed up with his younger brother Darren. This is Garry’s first season as player / manager and he will likely team up with his brother in the forward line for Saturday’s Final. Darren has one over his brother though as he won the Balliemore Cup with Strathglass in 2003 whilst this will be Garry’s first Balliemore Final. The Strath also have a father and son pairing as Stevie MacLaughlan keeps goal for the side whilst his 17 year old son Marc is in the forward line. Stevie has played in 2 Balliemore Cup Finals for Ballachulish – losing both. Marc – who has just returned from the Scotland U17 Development squad’s Irish tour - will play in his first Final. |
