11 June 2009 The MacTavish Cup Final takes centre stage on at Both sides enter the MacTavish Cup Final on the back of good wins and plenty of goals. Newtonmore had a fine 5-0 win over Glenorchy at Dalmally in the National Premier League last weekend with David Cheyne hitting a hat-trick. Kingussie were in Camanachd Cup action and they had a 10-1 win against Marine Harvest North Division 1 side Lovat. Ronald Ross was their top marksman as he scored 6 goals for the second consecutive week. The sides have met once in the league this season, sharing the points in a 1-1 draw at the Eilan with many observers believing that ‘More had the better of that match. Norman “Brick” MacArthur’s side are desperate to win silverware and the MacTavish Cup was the last major senior honour they won, back in 2002. Kingussie are the current holders of the MacTavish Cup and they will not give up their title easily. The MacTavish Cup Final throws up at 4pm and will be televised live by |
