Skye Camanachd U14 B went down 4-2 to Kinlochshiel U14 in their Local League match at Pairc na Laoch, Portree on Thursday 23 April 2009.
Skye Camanachd U14 B were missing Ruairidh Morrison and Fraser Graham and coach Willie Cowie was happy that his team had performed well.
The opening exchanges were fairly even but Jordan Fraser put Shiel ahead after 15mins. Skye drew level when Rammie Orr's hit in from the side found its way in to the net to level the match at the break.
Kinlochshiel, playing with the wind, had the better of the second half and Jordan Fraser scored twice to give them a well deserved 3 - 1 lead.
Skye always looked dangerous on the break and Will Cowie scored a tremendous penalty after the Shiel keeper was adjudged to have kicked the ball. Shiel had several close attempts on goal before Jordan Fraser secured the points with his own and his team’s fourth goal of the match.
Best for Shiel were Oliver MacRae, Donald Nixon and Jordan Fraser. Shiel were also well served by their younger players.
Skye had good performances from Iain MacLeod, Johnnie MacDonald, Will Cowie, Angie Grant and Iain MacPherson. The defenders worked hard and Jack Latton, Liam Tonagh and Scott MacLennan also deserve credit.
