21 April 2009 Glengarry and Tir Conaill Harps look to be on a collision course for the women’s national shinty league title after both won their matches on Sunday 19 April 2009. TCH ran out 5-0 winners at home to a Meanwhile, defending champions Glengarry were overcoming old rivals Glasgow Mid-Argyll 3-0 at Invergarry. A goal from Fiona Cumming in 10 minutes separated the sides at the interval and, in the second half, the stubborn GMA defence in which Lisa Norman was prominent finally succumbed to a Fenella MacRae double – the final goal of the game coming from the penalty spot. So Tir Conaill and Glengarry are level on four points apiece, though Garry have played one game less. Already the return meeting between the teams in Tir Conaill’s second team are also riding high in South Central Division Two following their 3-0 home win against Cowal & Bute. They also had a player netting her second hat-trick of the season, in the shape of Alison Barclay. South West Division Two made a belated start with Dunadd and Kintyre sharing the points in a 2-2 draw at Lochgilphead.
