21 September 2008 Skye Camanachd full back Steven Morrison and forward Ally MacLennan have been selected for the Scotland U21 squad to travel to Ireland for next month's shinty / hurling international. The players were selected following today's final trials in Fort William. They will join up with the rest of the squad for the first of two training sessions before the international. Their selection is reward for the consistantly good performances they have made for Skye Camanachd this season. Lochcarron's Mark Sproule has also been selected as has Kinlochshiel's Chrisdean MacRae. The Scottish side is coached by Skye Camanachd's Donnie Martin, assisted by Davie Stafford and Charles Young. However Martin will miss the international as he will be abroad at the time. The international will be held in Durrow on 18 October 2008 which is 30 miles from Kilkenney where the senior game is being held. |
