Fort William U14s Win The Ken MacMaster Trophy. | |
14 September 2008 Fort William U14s Win The Ken MacMaster Trophy after beating Oban Camanachd U14s by four goals to two. Oban started well but it was Fort William who took the lead when Ryan Murphy burst through the Oban defence to score. Arran MacPhee scored a second before Oban's Calum MacPhee scored the goal of the match, firing a 20 yard shot high into the net, Arran MacPhee restored Fort's two goal lead and Logan Barker made it four. Oban had moved the impressive Peter Currie from left back to full centre and he pulled a goal back. It was a deserved win for Fort Wlliam and their coach Jock Sneddon as they retain the famous trophey. However Oban might wonder what would have happened if they had started the game with Peter Currie at full centre. |
