13 July 2008 Skye Camanachd has 7 players attending this year's National Shinty Player Development Camp. They will be part of a group of around 65 U17 shinty players from throughout Scotland with most clubs nomiating up to 5 players for the week long camp in Perth. The Camanachd Association allowed Skye Camanachd to nominate 8 players players for the camp as they are the only club in Scotland to run two U14 sides. Unfortunately second team player Ian Morrison is on holiday and unable to attend. The Skye 7 players attending are first team midfielder Shockie MacLennan, second team defenders Neil John Campbell and Martin Bruce, second team midfielder Stewart Grant and second team forwards Danny Morrison, Neil MacVicar and Paul MacKinnon. The Scotland U17 A and B squads for the shinty / hurling internationals against Irish sides are selected from the players attending the National Development Camp. The Scotland U17 A and B squads selected from the 2007 Camp have just returned from Ireland and included 5 Skye Camanachd players - Jamie MacDonald, Andrew Banks, Shockie MacLennan, Danny Morrison and Neil John Campbell. |
