Marine Harvest North Division 2 Glenurquhart 1 Kingussie 1 Glenurquhart and Kingussie shared the points in an 11am throw up at Blairbeg. This encounter came three weeks after the sides met in the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup Final. Calum Smith was suspended for the hosts after being red-carded in the 2-0 defeat to Kingussie in that final. Kingussie boss Michael Falconer was on holiday so Russell Jones and Davie Anderson took the side. Kingussie’s Rory Fraser was free from suspension after serving a two match ban but he didn’t play. Kingussie welcomed Thomas Borthwick back into their line-up after he had spent a year living in Australia. This was a typical end of season affair and the Glen took the lead on 37 minutes when Paul MacIntosh fired home. However Kingussie levelled on 78 minutes thanks to a Rory Borthwick effort. This was the penultimate Marine Harvest North Division 2 fixture of the season and Glenurquhart needed to win and to beat Aberdeen University by a sufficient goals margin this coming weekend to have a chance of leap-frogging Skye Camanachd into third place in the table. |
