Skye Camanachd Seconds Go Down To First League Defeat. | |
14 April 2012 The Skye Camanachd second team went down to their first defeat of the season when they lost 2-1 to Glengarry in their Marine Harvest North Division 2 match at Invergarry on Saturday 14 April 2012. Skye started well and home keeper Gordon MacDonald made several good stops to thwart the visitors. Glengarry took the lead on 21 minutes when Steven Cameron swept the ball low into the net from an Andrew Gilchrist corner on the right. Glengarry came back into the game although Skye finished the game strongly with Will Cowie desperately unlucky to see one shot come back off the inside of the post. A rousing half time team talk got Skye back on track and Jordan Murchison squared the game less than a minute into the second half. Skye pressed hard for the winner but they were wasteful in front of goal. They were made to pay just 4 minutes from time when Aaron Clark got on the end of a Ewan Brady free-hit and his shot took a deflection to beat Skye keeper John MacLeod. The win means that Glengarry leap-frog Skye into second place in the table although the Islanders have a game in hand. (more to follow) |
