Deteriorating Weather Leads To Skye Camanachd Match Postponement | |
02 September 2012 The deteriorating weather conditions in Portree on Saturday 1 September 2012 led to the postponement of the Marine Harvest North Division 1 match between Skye Camanachd and Strathglass. The match was to be the second home match of the afternoon for the Islanders, with a 3.30pm throw up. However the weather began to deteriorate during the second half of the Marine Harvest North Division 2 game between Skye Camanachd and Newtonmore with heavy rain and a swirling wind making conditions very difficult for the players. Unfortunately Strathglass had already arrived in Portree by this time and referee Evan MacRae considered starting the match but, with little sign of the weather improving, he was left with little option but to take player safety into account and postpone the match. The game will now be rescheduled for a later date. |
