Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Quarter Final Draw - UPDATE! | |
20 June 2012 The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2012 Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup took place at the Spey Valley Golf Course on Wednesday 20 June 2012. The draw was made by Callum Macaulay and Chris Doak who are top golfers from Team Scottish Hydro. The Scottish Hydro-sponsored professional golfers were assisted by Lovat's Drew Howie and Craig Dawson from Kingussie. Scottish Hydro sponsorship manager Jonny Petrie said, "At Scottish Hydro, supporting our local communities is very important to us and with this high profile golfing event, the Scottish Hydro Challenge, coming to the shinty heartland, it’s a great opportunity for two of the sports we’re proud to be involved with to meet up and maybe even get to share some tricks of the trade with each other!" Kingussie captain Craig Dawson added, "First and foremost we have our second round replay match against Kinlochshiel this Saturday, before we can look to the quarters. This is the competition everyone in shinty wants to win and hopefully if we can maintain some good form, we can progress.” Drew Howie agreed adding, "As Craig said, this is the one we all want to have in the trophy cabinet at the end of the season. Lovat have so far put out some strong performances against big teams this season, but there are no easy ties from now on in, we will just have to play as well as we can do in the hope that that will be enough." With two replays due to take place this coming Saturday, a total of ten clubs were included in the draw. The quarter-final draw in full is; Skye Camanachd v Kyles Athletic / Glasgow Mid Argyll Newtonmore v Lochaber Lovat v Kingussie / Kinlochshiel Kilmallie v Inveraray The quarter-final ties will be played on Saturday 14 July 2012 and the 2012 Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final takes place at Mossfield, Oban on Saturday 15 September 2012. |
