Argyll & Bute Shinty Development Officer Appointment | |
09 March 2012 The Camanachd Association has name Inveraray player Euan McMurdo as the new Argyll & Bute Shinty Development Officer. As well as plying for the Inveraray first team, McMurdo is an enthusiastic volunteer and coach with a number of youth and school teams. He has employed by Argyll & Bute Council as a Fitness Instructor at the Mid-Argyll Sport Centre for the past two years. He previously worked for eight years as a Branch Manager with Bank of Scotland. Torquil Macleod, Camanachd Association Chief Operating Officer, said, “We are delighted Euan will be joining the team. His past professional and playing experience, coupled with his enthusiasm for the sport, will strengthen the Association and I am sure he will have a very positive impact upon the further development of shinty in Argyll & Bute.” Euan McMurdo is looking forward to his new job and he said, “I am delighted to be appointed as Argyll & Bute Shinty Development Officer and working within a sport I am passionate about. I am fully committed to embracing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to working closely with the Clubs, Schools and many volunteers throughout the region to help introduce more youngsters to shinty and improve the overall standard of the sport in the South.” Euan McMurdo replaces Darren Reid and he joins North Development Officer Russell Jones and National Development Officer Ronald Ross as they develope and promote youth shinty. |
