The Shinty Round Up – Saturday 11 July 2015 | |
14 July 2015 Three of the four SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup semi-finalists are known following the shinty action on Saturday 11 July 2015.
SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup – Quarter Finals Kyles Athletic 5 Skye Camanachd 1 Kyles Athletic are through to the last four of the SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup following their 5-1 last-eight win over Skye Camanachd at Tighnabruaich. Kyles Athletic boss Norman MacDonald was without influential defender Andrew King. Skye Camanachd manager John MacLeod had to do without Kenny Campbell and Kenny MacLeod whilst Shockie MacLennan was still injured. Skye full back Steven Morrison was a late call-off with a knee injury. Skye were late in arriving as the players and officials assisted at a road traffic accident. Skye fell behind within the opening minute when Roddy MacDonald punished hesitancy in the visiting defence to score. Kyles doubled their lead on 9 minutes. Skye goalie Iain MacLeod saved well from Grant Irvine but Dunkie Kerr followed up to score. Roddy MacDonald got his second on 37 minutes when he was allowed time and space to control a ball from a corner and he dribbled the ball into the D before scoring to make it 3-0. Roddy MacDonald completed his hat-trick to make it 4-0 just 3 minutes later when he shot through a ruck of players to score. Kyles grabbed a fifth goal on 68 minutes. Skye keeper Iain MacLeod, who was in terrific form all afternoon, made a brilliant save from Roberto Zavaroni but Roddy MacDonald was on hand to finish from close range. Skye pulled a goal back on 70 minutes when an Iain Nicolson shot was adjudged by referee Robert Baxter to have been kicked by John Whyte in the Kyles goal. Will Cowie dully stepped up to fire the spot-hit high in to the Kyles net to make it 5-1. It was a much improved second half showing from Skye but Kyles deserve their place in the last four of shinty’s top competition.
Lovat 2 Fort William 2 Lovat and Fort William will have to do it all over again following an entertaining 2-2 draw at Balgate. Lovat manager John MacRitchie welcomed back Callum Cruden who had served a one-game ban for a bookings points accumulation in the Artemis Macaulay Cup win over Kingussie a fortnight earlier and he started at wing centre. Kevin Bartlett was also back and he took up his usual position up front as did Ryan Ferguson who returned from holiday. Defender Michael MacKenzie was also back from holiday but he started on the bench with Danny Kelly retaining his place in the side. Lorne Mackay was again at full centre with Greg Matheson at full forward. Fort William co-managers Victor Smith and Adam Robertson welcomed Gordie MacKinnon back after he missed the previous week’s defeat against Kinlochshiel. Calum Shepherd returned from injury but work commitments and injury deprived them of Bryan Simpson and Arran MacPhee, who faces a long spell on the sidelines with a knee injury. Alexander MacMillan was also unavailable. Lovat took the lead under fortunate circumstances on 16 minutes. Kevin Bartlett miss-hit a shot and a Fort defender shouted at keeper Paul MacKay to leave the ball. The keeper stepped aside but the ball sneaked inside the post to give Lovat a 1-0 lead. Referee John Angus Gillies brought a halt to proceedings a couple of minutes later when it was noticed that Fort William’s Duncan Rodger and Steven Stewart were both wearing a number 12 shirt. Steven Stewart swapped shirts with substitute Seamus Gall and continued playing now wearing the number 8 top. Fort William levelled on 29 minutes when Gordie MacKinnon pounced on a loose ball and he struck a great shot from 25 yards which flew high, left of Lovat goalie Stuart MacDonald. The home side regained the lead a couple of minutes before half-time. A perfectly weighted pass from Kevin Bartlett left Lewis Tawse on edge of the D with only the keeper to beat and as Paul MacKay rushed out to block, Tawse guided the ball past him to make it 2-1. Duncan Rodger had not really got into the game at wing forward in first half. However he came more into the match after being switched to full forward and the Fort looked the likelier side to score. Fort William equalised with a well-worked goal just 5 minutes after the restart. Gordie MacKinnon won possession in midfield following a Paul MacKay goal-hit. MacKinnon found Daniel Stewart on the Fort right and he played in Duncan Rodger who held off marker Drew Howie before running in on goal and lofting the ball over keeper Stuart MacDonald’s shoulder into the net from close range. Both sides made changes just after the hour mark. Ewen Campbell came on in place of Graham Campbell for Fort William whilst Michael MacKenzie replaced Danny Kelly for Lovat. Lovat replaced Ryan Ferguson with Fraser Gallacher with 15 minutes remaining and Euan Ferguson came on for Lewis Tawse with just 10 minutes remaining. However neither side was able to find a winner and a bereavement from the Lovat club means the teams will not replay at An Aird until on Saturday 1 August 2015 in a tie which will be played to the finish. Lovat’s Lorne MacKay will miss that tie as he is on holiday.
Glasgow Mid Argyll 1 Inveraray 4 Inveraray saw off a depleted Glasgow Mid Argyll side to reach the semi-finals courtesy of a 4-1 victory at Yoker. GMA manager George Hay had selection concerns with Craig Anderson, Finlay MacMillan, Brendan McLoone, Garry Luke, Conal Mulholland, Jamie McFadden, Ben Dalgety, Brian Slattery, Andy Mathie and Jack Berg all unavailable. Nicolas Crawford, Grant Griffin and Chris Crawford were all missing through injury for Inveraray but John Kennedy was back. Youngster Fraser Watt was given a start in attack. Inveraray have been finding goals hard to come by this season but they got off to a great start with goals from Fraser Watt on 7 minutes and Garry MacPherson on 17 minutes giving them a 2-0 lead. However GMA are a hard-working side and when referee Innes Wood pointed to the penalty spot on 38 minutes, Mark Bain stepped up to score. Inveraray were now making hard work of it but goals from Lewis MacNicol on 61 minutes and Neil Shaw on 79 minutes ensured that they would go into Monday’s draw at Hampden Park. It wasn't the prettiest of performances from Inveraray but getting the victory was what it was all about and it says much for GMA’s contribution to the game that Inveraray full back Andrew McMurdo was the match’s stand-out performer, reading the play superbly.
Oban Camanachd 1 Newtonmore 3 The tie between Oban Camanachd and Newtonmore was switched to the Taynuilt Sports Field with a noon throw up as Mossfield was unavailable as it had been booked for a football tournament. Oban Camanachd had hoped to play the tie at 5pm at Mossfield, following a football tournament booking, but Newtonmore were unable to agree to that request as some of their players had commitments that evening. Newtonmore secured their last four spot in shinty’s most prestigious competition when they ran our 3-1 winners. Oban Camanachd were without the injured Lorne Dickie, who suffered a hand injury against Inveraray last weekend, and Craig MacMillan whilst Gary McKerracher was on holiday and Scot MacMillan was working. They drafted in three players from Lochside Rovers in their place. Newtonmore’s Steven MacDonald was still missing because of work commitments. There were no goals in the first half with chances at both ends of the field and the Oban side gave a very good account of themselves. Glen MacKintosh has been Newtonmore’s main goal threat this season and he came up trumps on 59 minutes when punished a defensive error and fired past Gavin Stobbart to make it 1-0. Cameron Binnie made it 2-0 just a couple of minutes later to give ‘More some breathing space. Oban Camanachd’s Malcolm Clark scored for the second successive Saturday following a well-worked set-piece to make it 2-1. However there was to be no comeback as Glen MacKintosh got his second goal of the afternoon to make it 3-1 with just 9 minutes remaining.
Strathdearn Cup – Quarter Finals Beauly 1 Newtonmore 6 (after extra time) It took extra-time to separate the Newtonmore reserves beat their Beauly counter-parts at Braeview Park. Beauly had David Neilson back in their side after an absence through work commitments. There were debuts for youngsters Coinneach MacDonald and William Zblewski. Newtonmore were along usual lines. This was the second meeting in successive Saturdays between the sides with ‘More winning 6-1 at the Eilan in the league last weekend. This meeting was much closer over the 90 minutes. Iain Robinson gave ‘More an 18 minute lead but Martin Davidson grabbed the equaliser when he bulleted the ball into the top corner of the net from the Beauly right to make it 1-1. With no further scoring, referee Evan MacRae took the tie into an extra-time period. Iain Robinson got his second 4 minutes into extra-time and the Eilan side went on to dominate the remainder of the tie. Craig MacLeod made it 3-1just 3 minutes later. Iain Robinson completed his hat-trick on 107 minutes and Calum Stewart added two more goals on 113 and 119 minutes to make it 6-1.
Aberdeen University 1 Fort William 4 The Fort William seconds safely negotiated a tricky trip to Balgownie to make their way into the semi-finals with a 4-1 win over Aberdeen University. David Fraser was free of suspension for the Students whilst Duncan Rodger was again on first team duty for the Fort. Scott Knox put Fort William ahead on 8 minutes and Bobby MacMillan got a second on 39 minutes. Mark Lawrie made it 3-0 a minute later to leave the An Aird side in a comfortable position at the break. Scott Knox got his second on the hour mark and although former Fort William player Mark Fraser pulled a goal back 9 minutes from time, Fort William go through to the last four of this North competition where they will play the Newtonmore seconds.
Kingussie 2 Kinlochshiel 3 The Kinlochshiel reserves survived a fight-back to beat the Kingussie reserves 3-2 at the Dell. The Kings went into the tie with three wins and draw in their last four outings. ‘Shiel on the other hand had lost their last four matches. Both sides were short of players with Kingussie’s Ryan Borthwick and Chris Holleysong in first team action whilst Graham Morrison and Fergus Dobson were amongst the ‘Shiel absentees. ‘Shiel’s Neil Fraser knocked home a rebound on 15 after a Kenneth Loades effort had been saved. Neil Fraser stroked home a second on 23 minutes, with Kenneth Loades again the provider, to put his side 2-0 ahead. When Fraser steered a stray ball home inside the D to complete his hat-trick on 39 minutes, the visitors had one foot in the next round. However a Kevin Thain goal 3 minutes before the break gave Kingussie hope. Referee John Matheson awarded the home side a penalty but Kevin Thain saw his effort saved by ‘Shiel stand-in keeper Sandy MacDiarmid. Thain made up for that miss with a second goal on 72 minutes but despite having the better of the second half, the Kings just couldn’t get the equaliser that would have taken the tie to extra-time. One downside for ‘Shiel boss Willie MacRae was seeing Allan MacDiarmid having to leave the field after taking a blow to the head from a swinging caman. MacDiarmid will face a few weeks on the sidelines after a hospital visit confirmed a broken eye-socket, a fractured cheekbone and jaw injury.
Glengarry 7 Lovat 2 Glengarry beat the Lovat second team 7-2 at Craigard. Thomas Fraser gave Lovat a second minute lead and that’s the way it stayed until a minute before half-time when Daniel MacLennan, back in the ‘Garry side, made it 1-1. Glengarry, and Daniel MacLennan in particular, then went nap with the Inverness Clach footballer scoring on 66, 69 and 75 minutes to make it 4-1. Rory Campbell pulled a goal back a couple of minutes later but there was no stopping Glengarry and Ruaridh MacDonald made it 5-2 on 84 minutes. Daniel MacLennan then scored six goals for the second time this season when he netted on 86 and 89 minutes to make a 7-2 triumph. Glengarry will now take on the Kinlochshiel reserves in the semi-finals.
Bullough Cup – Quarter Finals Lochside Rovers 1 Kyles Athletic 2 Kyles Athletic edged out Lochside Rovers with a 2-1 win at Ganavan. Lochside Rovers were without Chris MacMillan who served a one match suspension for a bookings points accumulation. They also had other regulars missing as the Oban Camanachd first team were missing players and they included nine U17 players, including 15 year old Lewis Buchanan, in their fifteen player pool. Kyles were minus Scotland U17 player Ross MacRae who was on first team duty. George Thomson put Kyles ahead on 31 minutes and Patrick Mulholland scored what was to be a crucial second goal on 54 minutes. Daniel MacVicar pulled a goal back for Lochside 10 minutes from time but the home side couldn’t find a leveller so Kyles Athletic will now play the Aberdour second team in the last four of the all-South tournament.
Inveraray 8 Oban Lorn 2 The Inveraray second team beat Oban Lorn 8-2 at the Winterton. Neil Campbell scored twice on 4 and 10 minutes to give Inveraray the early advantage. Andy Stewart made it 3-0 on 14 minutes but Sandy MacLeod pulled a goal back on 22 minutes. The goals continued to flow and Campbell Watt got a fourth for the home side on 32 minutes only for Oban Lorn’s Daniel MacKinnon to make it 4-2 just a couple of minutes before the break. However the home side pulled away in the second half. Neil Campbell completed his hat-trick 6 minutes after the restart and Andy Stewart got his second on 65 minutes to make it 6-2. A fourth goal from Neil Campbell on 76 minutes and a hat-trick effort from Andy Stewart on 83 minutes rounded off the 8-2 win. The Inveraray seconds will now face Forces side SCOTS Camanachd or Tayforth in the semi-finals.
Marine Harvest Premiership Lochaber 5 Kinlochshiel 1 Lochaber and Kinlochshiel are two of this season’s form teams and they have both already more than bettered last season’s points total, It was the home side who triumphed 5-1 when they met at Spean Bridge. Lochaber boos Ally Ferguson was delighted to have Calum MacDonald back in goal after he missed the win over Fort William in the team’s last outing a fortnight earlier through illness. Zandz Ferguson, the manager’s son, had recovered from a broken ankle and he started on the bench. Martin Cameron was on holiday. Kinlochshiel first team manager Colin Fraser has had a good pool off players to choose from in recent weeks – Calum MacLean and Fraser MacVicar were his only absentees - and his side went into the game knowing a victory would take them to within a point of leaders Newtonmore. Lochaber got off to an unbelievable start and barely 20 seconds had elapsed between refereeing Billy Wotherspoon throwing the ball up between the full centres and 16 year old Findlay MacDonald scoring from Pat Toal’s right wing cross to give his side a 1-0 lead. It took a brilliant Scott Kennedy save to deny Lochaber a second as he stretched to tip away a rocket-shot from Stuart Callison which was heading for the top corner of the net. Not to be out-done, Lochaber goalie Calum MacDonald did well to keep out a terrific drive from Keith MacRae, turning the ball away from just under his bar for a corner. Oliver MacRae drew Kinlochshiel level on 12 minutes and he has looked lively following his switch from midfield to attack in recent weeks. MacRae scored from close range following a good passing move. Despite playing into the wind, ‘Shiel were impressive and they took the game to Lochaber with the away forwards looking really sharp and Oliver MacRae came with-in a whisker of going into the lead following a goal-mouth scramble. The visitors had the chance to go ahead on 38 minutes when referee Billy Wotherspoon awarded them a penalty after Keith MacRae was fouled inside the D. However Calum MacDonald made a good save from Jordan Fraser’s well-struck spot-hit. In fact young keeper Calum MacDonald was keeping Lochaber in the game at what was a crucial stage in the match. Zandz MacDonald was an impressive addition to the Lochaber midfield in the closing stages of the first half but it was mainly thanks to the Lochaber goalie MacDonald efforts that the sides went into the break all-square. Lochaber went back in front 3 minutes after the restart when Pat Toal, who is enjoying an excellent season in the top side, restoring their lead after latching onto a ball forward from Zandz Ferguson. The goal settled Lochaber and they grew in confidence and started to play some one-touch, fast-flowing shinty. Ben Delaney was exciting at wing forward, taking on opponents and creating chances for his team-mates as did buckshee forward Kevin Ferguson, who turned in arguably his best performance of the season, getting the ball behind ‘Shiel buckshee back Finlay MacRae to great effect. The Red & Whites extended their lead on 70 minutes. Zandz Ferguson made a lung-busting run down the Lochaber left and he cut the ball back to young gun Findlay MacDonald who finished well with a good strike from just outside the D to make it 3-1. ‘Shiel replaced Nathan Whear, Donald Nixon and Gordie MacDonald with Duncan “DA” MacRae, Duncan “Ach” MacRae and Alasdair Nixon as they looked to get back in the game. The changes were to no avail though as it was Lochaber who would put gloss on the win with two late goals. Stuart Callison had made a considerable contribution throughout the game and he got his reward with a goal 6 minutes from time to make it 4-1. When Lochaber were awarded a penalty a couple of minutes from time, with Stuart Callison impeded inside the D, Findlay MacDonald was given the responsibility and the chance to complete his hat-trick and he made the most of the opportunity as he smashed the ball high into the back of the net to make it 5-1. This was a good all-round performance from Lochaber and whilst their forward players grabbed the headlines, their defence worked tirelessly, particularly in the first half when they needed to be at their best to keep the Kirkton side at bay. Full centre Mark MacDonald was best for ‘Shiel in a side which never gave up. Lochaber now move up to third place in the league, level on points in second place Kinlochshiel. The Spean Bridge side finished bottom of last season’s eight team top division and they were saved from relegation by another league reconstruction. They have now trebled last season’s four points total and they head for Blairbeg next weekend to play RBS MacTavish Cup winners Glenurquhart looking to make it four league wins in a row.
Glenurquhart 3 Kingussie 1 Glenurquhart and Kingussie met for the second successive Saturday, this time at Blairbeg. Glenurquhart won 2-1 at the Dell last weekend and they went a goal better with a 3-1 victory this time. Andrew Corrigan was working and so missed out for Glenurquhart. Louis Munro and John Gibson were back for Kingussie but Lee Bain and Savio Genini were still missing. Ryan Borthwick recovered from a knock to take a place at buckshee back. Ewan Brady put the Glen ahead on 32 minutes with what was the only goal of the first half. Fraser Heath made it 2-0 just 10 minutes after the restart with Neale Reid adding a third a couple of minutes later. Kingussie’s Chris Holleysong conjured up a fine solo goal 10 minutes from time but the home side took the points to go fifth in the table and they have games in hand on the three teams immediately above them. It is an extremely tight division with only four points separating seven of the top ten clubs – from second place Kinlochshiel to eighth place Kingussie.
Marine Harvest National Division Kilmallie 4 Inverness 1 Kilmallie move to the top of the Marine Harvest National Division after they beat Ballachulish 4-1 at the Canal Parks. Kilmallie’ Peter Carmichael was free of suspension whist Somhairle MacDonald was still missing for Inverness. Ryan Stewart is becoming an important player for Kilmallie this season and he put his side ahead on just 3 minutes. Liam MacDonald made it 2-0 on 15 minutes and he added a third just 4 minutes into the second half. Former Fort William player Davie Duncan pulled a goal back for Inverness on 57 minutes but a second from Ryan Stewart on 76 minutes made it 4-1 to clinch the points and maintain Kilmallie’s 100% league record.
Ballachulish 0 Beauly 4 Beauly go level on points with third place Glasgow Mid Argyll after they beat Ballachulish 4-0 at Braeview Park. Balla’ were still without John MacDonald but David Campbell was free of his ban. Beauly’s Jamie MacLennan served the second match of his two-game suspension so he is now eligible to play in next weekend’s Balliemore Cup Final against Glasgow Mid Argyll. Full forward Marc MacLachlan lined-up against his former side after recovering from a knock sustained in the league defeat to Skye Camanachd a week earlier. There was a minutes silence ahead of throw up to mark the passing of Ballachulish stalwart Willie MacDonald and this mark of respect was replicated at games throughout the country in memory of a man who was a Patron of the Camanachd Association and a member of the Camanachd Association’s Disciplinary Committee for many years. He was also a member of the Camanachd Referees Association. Willie’s significant commitment to the game was recognised when he received the Camanachd Association’s Centenary Award for outstanding contribution to shinty at the Marine Harvest Awards in 2011. Conor Ross put Beauly ahead on 18 minutes when he knocked home a rebound after Balla’ keeper Cameron Sutherland had made a save. Conor Ross got his and Beauly’s second on 24 minutes when he collected a Sean Stewart pass before slotting the ball home from just outside the D. Jack MacDonald made it 3-0 on 58 minutes with Sean Stewart again the provider. Stewart cut the ball back to MacDonald who took a touch to control the ball before crashing the ball high into the roof of the net. Sandy Elrick sealed the win a couple of minutes from time, again thumping home a rebound following another Cameron Sutherland save. Beauly now turn their attention to the Balliemore Cup Final against Glasgow Mid Argyll at the Dell this coming weekend.
Marine Harvest North Division 1 Strathglass 3 Glenurquhart 5 The Glenurquhart second team made it five league wins in a row when they beat Strathglass 5-3 at Cannich. Darren Reid scored twice for the home side with Donald Fraser getting the other. Daniel MacKintosh bagged a brace for the Glen with Michael Fraser also on target – his third goal in two outings. Cairn Urquhart also scored twice. One downside for the Glen was a nasty injury to forward Raymond Robertson. The Glen seconds are now second in the table. They trail the Fort William seconds by two points but the An Aird colts have a game in hand.
Marine Harvest South Division 1 Inveraray 5 Glenorchy 0 The match between the Inveraray seconds and Glenorchy at the Winterton was scheduled for Tuesday 7 July with a 7pm throw up. League leaders Inveraray extended their lead at the top of the table to three points with a 5-0 win. Niall Shaw gave Inveraray a first minute lead. 17 year old Fraser Watt on 23 minutes and Neil Campbell just 3 minutes later gave the home side a commanding 3-0 advantage at the break. Fraser Watt got his second on 69 minutes and an 18 year old Robert Wood goal on the stroke of full-time rounded off the 5-0 win.
Taynuilt 2 Bute 2 Taynuilt and Bute shared the points in a 2-2 draw at the Taynuilt Sports Field. Willie Neilson gave Taynuilt a 37 minute lead but Gordon MacMillan levelled the contest on the stroke of half-time. Willie Neilson put the home side back in front on 73 minutes but Gordon MacMillan again levelled just 3 minutes later. Taynuilt go sixth whilst fifth place Bute have games in hand on the teams above them in the league.
Strachur 4 Glenorchy 1 Strachur beat Glenorchy 4-1 at Strachurmore. Strachur’s Ross MacDonald started a two game ban for a bookings points accumulation. His teammate Ian Wilson served the final match of a two-game ban following his red card against Glenorchy a couple of weeks earlier. That encounter ended in a goalless draw. Glenorchy’s Graham Morrice served a one match suspension for a bookings points accumulation in last weekend’s 5-0 defeat to Lochside Rovers. However Duncan Smith was unavailable as he picked up a one-match ban for the same reason. Duncan MacNicol was the difference, grabbing a hat-trick for Strachur. Steven Bulloch got the other with Martin MacKillop replying for Glenorchy. Strachur now climb above Glenorchy to go eighth in the table.
Marine Harvest North Division 2 Lochaber 4 Strathspey Camanachd 0 The clash between Lochaber and Strathspey Camanachd at Spean Bridge was rescheduled for Wednesday 8 July 2015 with a 7pm throw up. Lochaber ran out 4-0 winners which lifted them up to fourth place in the league ahead of the weekend fixtures. Kirsty Delaney scored the only goal of the first half to give the home side a 1-0 interval lead. Danny Delaney added a second to make it 2-0 before Kirsty Delaney scored her fifth goal of the season to make it 3-0. Findlay MacDonald completed the 4-0 victory and whilst Strathspey re scheduled to head for Skye on Saturday, Lochaber have a weekend off.
Inverness 0 Lewis Camanachd 3 Lewis Camanachd bounced back from last weekend’s heavy defeat to Skye Camanachd when they beat the Inverness second team 3-0 at the Bught Park. Lewis took the from the penalty spot after just 8 minutes. Connor Chalmers was brought down inside the D and referee Mike Cameron, a former Glenurquhart player and second team manager, pointed to the spot. The Islanders had missed their last three penalties but Will Church took responsibility and he sent the penalty past home keeper Allan MacLeod. Connor Chalmers flashed a shot just wide before Inverness missed a chance to draw level when Stuart MacRae rounded the keeper but his shot rose over the bar. The visiting attack of Connor Chalmers, Peter Gomez, Donald Lamont and full forward Will Church were causing the Inverness defence problems and Will Church added a second on 16 minutes with a blistering drive which flew into the top corner of the net. Lewis claimed for a penalty when Allan MacLeod saved a Will Church shot with his foot but referee Cameron waved away their claims. Peter Gomez made it 3-0 with a well-worked goal on 22 minutes. A long Scott Murray ball found Will Church on the wing and Gomez turned the resultant cross into the net for his first Lewis goal. Donald Lamont and Connor Chalmers both went close but it was a satisfied Lewis camp who took a 3-0 lead into the break. The whirl-wind start had rocked Inverness but they rallied after the break. Scott Murray continued to prompt Lewis from midfield and Donald Lamont fired over the junction between post and bar. Ally Lamont replaced goalscorer Peter Gomez with 30 minutes remaining. Conor MacDonald and Stuart Campbell came on late in the match for the Islanders with former Skye Camanachd player Campbell coming close to getting a fourth goal for his side on his return to the side. Lewis saw out the rest of the match to take both points and record their fourth win of the season.
Skye Camanachd W/O v Strathspey Camanachd Strathspey Camanachd were unable to raise a team for their Marine Harvest North Division 2 meeting with the Skye Camanachd second team at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Skye Camanachd have been awarded the customary 5-0 victory and they go two points clear at the top of the table.
Marine Harvest South Division 2 Glenorchy P Aberdour P The match between the Glenorchy and Aberdour reserve teams was postponed as Mart Park was unplayable.
