03 May 2013 The Skye Camanachd first team travel south for a Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup first round tie with Taynuilt on Saturday 4 May 2013. The sides last met at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on 15 May 2010 when an under-strength Taynuilt side went down 9-1 in a Balliemore Cup tie. The Skye scorers that day were Kenny Campbell (3), Iain Morrison (3), Allan MacKinnon, Iain Nicolson and Willie MacRae. It took a late fight-back before Skye eventually overcame Strathglass 4-3 in Marine Harvest North Division 1 last weekend and manager Willie MacRae will have decisions to make; in particular who starts in attack. Defender Andrew Banks comes into the squad with Stewart Grant rejoining the second team. Taynuilt are currently bottom of Marine Harvest South Division 1. However they did make a good start to the season, drawing with current leaders Glasgow Mid Argyll and beating Oban Celtic. The home side are without the influential Willie Gillies who serves a two match ban. There will be a pitch inspection in Taynuilt early on Saturday morning. The Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup second round draw takes place in Fort William on Monday 6 May 2013. Dunkie Kerr is the match referee and throw up is at 2.30pm. |
