26 August 2015 The 2015 Strathdearn Cup Final between Glengarry and the Newtonmore second team takes place at the Bught Park on Saturday 29 August 2015.
Saturday 18 April 2015 Strathdearn Cup – First Round Glengarry were given a bye in the first round of this year’s Strathdearn Cup tournament.
Saturday 16 May 2015 Strathdearn Cup – Second Round Caberfeidh 2 Glengarry 3 Glengarry survived a second half come-back from Caberfeidh to win 3-2 in their noon encounter at Castle Leod. Martin Cameron gave ‘Garry a 14 minute lead. When Daniel MacLennan scored twice on 29 and 43 minutes, the Craigard side had what looked like a comfortable 3-0 half-time lead. Gavin McLaughlan pulled a goal back on the hour and when Stewart Kryzanowski netted on 72 minutes to make it 3-2, it set up a tense finish. However Glengarry safely saw out the closing minutes to win a place in the next round.
Saturday 11 July 2015 Strathdearn Cup – Quarter Finals Glengarry 7 Lovat 2 Glengarry beat the Lovat second team 7-2 at Craigard. Thomas Fraser gave Lovat a second minute lead and that’s the way it stayed until a minute before half-time when Daniel MacLennan, back in the ‘Garry side, made it 1-1. Glengarry, and Daniel MacLennan in particular, then went nap with the Inverness Clach footballer scoring on 66, 69 and 75 minutes to make it 4-1. Rory Campbell pulled a goal back a couple of minutes later but there was no stopping Glengarry and Ruaridh MacDonald made it 5-2 on 84 minutes. Daniel MacLennan then scored six goals for the second time this season when he netted on 86 and 89 minutes to make a 7-2 triumph. Glengarry will now take on the Kinlochshiel reserves in the semi-finals.
Saturday 15 August 2015 Strathdearn Cup – Semi Finals Glengarry 3 Kinlochshiel 2 Glengarry reached the 2015 Strathdearn Cup Final with a tight 3-2 win over the Kinlochshiel second team at Craigard. Glengarry are now without Daniel MacLennan who is back playing Highland League football whilst Neil Fraser was back for Kinlochshiel. It was ‘Shiel who took the early initiative with goals from Neil Fraser on 26 minutes and Fergus Dobson on 35 minutes giving them a 2-0 lead. ‘Garry’s Ruairidh MacDonald started the come-back when he scored a minute before half-time to make it 2-1. It was two goals in just 3 minutes which won the tie for Glengarry. Steven Cameron levelled on 75 minutes and, just 3 minutes later, Martin Cameron found the back of the net to put the home side a head for the first time in the match. John Matheson was the match referee. Glengarry and the Newtonmore second team will now meet in the Strathdearn Cup Final.
The 2015 Strathdearn Cup between Glengarry and the Newtonmore second team takes place at the Bught Park on Saturday 29 August 2015. Throw up is at 3pm and Andy MacLean is the match referee. Admission is £5 for Adults / £3 Concessions and under 12s go free when accompanied by a paying adult. There is a discount available to Camanachd Association members. |
